1The Stitch Bonded Silica Needle Mat is a premium high-temperature insulation material engineered for demanding industrial environments where thermal stability, mechanical strength, and long service life are essential. Manufactured from 95–99% high-purity amorphous silica fibers, the mat is produced using a precision needle-punching process and reinforced with aramid and silica sewing threads. This unique stitch-bonded construction ties the fiber web through its full thickness, preventing delamination and significantly increasing tensile and tear resistance compared to conventional non-stitched mats.
Designed for continuous operation at 1100°C (2012°F), the mat maintains structural integrity with linear shrinkage limited to only 7–8%, even under long-term thermal cycling. Its naturally low thermal conductivity—0.04 W/m·K at 100°C, 0.16 W/m·K at 600°C, and 0.34 W/m·K at 1000°C—ensures efficient heat containment and reliable energy savings across a wide temperature range.
The material is inorganic, non-combustible, asbestos-free, halogen-free, and VOC-free, supporting strict workplace safety and environmental compliance. With electrical resistivity in the range of 10¹⁷–10¹⁸ Ω·cm, it provides both thermal and electrical insulation, making it suitable for multifunctional protection in electrical enclosures and high-temperature equipment.
Enhanced resistance to vibration, high-velocity gas flows, and mechanical handling makes the stitch-bonded design ideal for systems exposed to constant movement or repeated installation. The open fiber structure also contributes incidental acoustic damping, improving noise control in industrial and automotive assemblies.
The mat can be easily converted using cutting, die-cutting, pressing, or water-jet machining. Stitch reinforcement helps maintain edge integrity, reducing fray and ensuring consistent part quality. Off-cuts are inert and may be disposed of as non-hazardous mineral waste.
