Basalt Woven Tape is a high-performance thermal and mechanical protection material made from continuous basalt fibers—naturally occurring volcanic rock that is melted and extruded into fine filaments, then woven into a flat tape form.
It combines the natural thermal stability of basalt with excellent strength, abrasion resistance, and chemical durability. Unlike traditional fiberglass tape, basalt tape offers higher temperature resistance and superior toughness, making it a preferred choice in extreme environments.
Continuous temperature resistance up to 800°C (1472°F), short-term up to 1000°C (1832°F)
Excellent tensile strength and abrasion resistance
Resistant to chemicals, solvents, and UV degradation
Flexible and easy to wrap around surfaces, seams, or corners
Automotive & Motorsports
Wrapping exhaust systems, headers, and downpipes to reduce heat transfer
Protecting fuel lines, wiring harnesses, and hoses from radiant heat
Industrial Applications
Thermal insulation for furnaces, boilers, and piping
Gasket and sealing tape in high-temperature machinery
Marine & Aerospace
Fireproofing and insulation in engine bays and compartments
Protecting sensitive components from extreme heat and vibration
Maintenance & Repair
Temporary or permanent wrapping for damaged insulation or hot pipes
Reinforcing areas exposed to heat and abrasion
