order(moq):
1Longitudinal carbon fiber reinforcement in a flexible tubular preform for composite shafts, tubes and shaped components.
BSTFLEX Unidirectional Carbon Fiber Sleeve positions the main carbon fiber yarns along the length of a tubular preform. Finer supporting yarns maintain the sleeve's shape while it is placed over a mandrel or part. The construction lets fabricators arrange axial reinforcement around a tube or a changing cross section without forming a flat sheet into a tube. It is supplied as a dry textile reinforcement for composite layup; the finished properties depend on the complete laminate and manufacturing process.
For a part that requires carbon fibers running from end to end, a unidirectional sleeve provides a tubular way to place the principal yarns in the 0-degree, or axial, direction. The supporting yarns stabilize the textile but should not be treated as a substitute for a designed circumferential or torsional reinforcement layer.
A laminate may combine axial reinforcement with other fiber orientations when its loading requires them. The sleeve should be selected against the actual part geometry, load case, resin and cure schedule. Final strength or stiffness cannot be specified from the dry sleeve alone.
The tubular form can be trial-fitted over straight sections, tapers and transitions. A nominal sleeve diameter does not by itself establish the installed fit: the supporting-yarn construction, mandrel shape and placement tension also matter. For components with several diameters, send a drawing showing the smallest and largest sections and the length of each transition. A physical fit trial can confirm coverage and cut length before an OEM order.
For a useful quotation, provide the carbon yarn grade or tow size if it is controlled by your design, nominal and installed diameters, required fiber weight, supporting-yarn requirements, roll or cut length, and the desired packaging. Tell us whether the sleeve will be laid over a bare mandrel or another reinforcement layer and identify the intended resin system.
BSTFLEX can discuss a custom construction or sample against those requirements. Yarn grade, diameter range, weight, expansion and mechanical values should be documented for the selected product variant after confirmation; values from a different supplier or a biaxial braid do not define this sleeve.
| Sleeve | Principal fiber direction | Selection starting point |
|---|---|---|
| Unidirectional Carbon Fiber Sleeve | Along the part | Carbon reinforcement in the axial direction |
| Carbon Fiber Braided Sleeves | Crossing braid directions | Biaxial tubular reinforcement |
| Unidirectional Glass Fiber Sleeve | Along the part | Axial reinforcement using glass fiber |
The table identifies fiber placement. The laminate designer must determine the complete layup and verify the cured part for its intended service.
No. This product is a dry carbon fiber sleeve for subsequent composite processing. It requires an appropriate resin system and a validated layup and cure.
That depends on the loads. The two constructions place their main fibers in different directions. A design needing hoop or torsional reinforcement may require additional plies.
Send a drawing or sample, the full diameter profile, finished length, carbon yarn requirement, target fiber weight, resin process and trial quantity. Include annual demand if you need an OEM supply quotation.
