BSTFLEX manufactures custom tadpole gaskets, tadpole seals and tadpole gasket tape for industrial ovens, furnaces, kilns, boilers, thermal enclosures, access panels and other high temperature sealing applications.
A tadpole gasket combines a compressible sealing bulb with an integrated mounting tail. The bulb creates the primary seal when compressed against the mating surface, while the flat tail provides a practical attachment area for installation on doors, frames, panels and industrial equipment.
Unlike standard gasket tape with a fixed material construction, BSTFLEX tadpole seals can be engineered using different cover materials, core materials, bulb sizes and tail configurations. This allows the gasket to be matched to the actual operating temperature, compression requirement, abrasion exposure, radiant heat, chemical environment and equipment geometry.

How to Choose a Tadpole Gasket
The correct gasket should be selected according to the complete operating environment rather than temperature alone.
Consider the continuous temperature, peak temperature, sealing gap, required bulb compression, closing force, cover material, core construction, abrasion exposure, chemical environment and mounting method.
For replacement applications, provide the existing gasket cross section, bulb diameter, tail width and required length. A physical sample or equipment drawing can also be used for custom development.

The gasket combines a woven fiberglass outer cover with a hollow stainless steel core. Unlike a solid mesh or fiberglass rope core, the hollow metallic structure provides a lighter and more compressible bulb that can deform readily under closing pressure while retaining useful resilience after the load is released.
